Alert Group is seeking a skilled and results-driven Backend Engineer to join our technology team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience building and maintaining backend systems, preferably within the Fintech, Banking, Microfinance, or Financial Services industry.

Requirements
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Backend Engineering/Software Development.
• Fintech, banking, microfinance, or financial services experience is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, PHP, or C#.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, databases, authentication, and system integrations.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of software development best practices, version control, and deployment processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• NYSC completion is compulsory.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications and services.
• Build and maintain secure RESTful APIs and system integrations.
• Develop and optimize database structures, queries, and data-driven applications.
• Integrate third-party services, payment platforms, and financial technology solutions.
• Ensure application performance, security, reliability, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues and production incidents.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.
