Mechanical Technician

Requirements
• HND/BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Good knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, gear systems, welding and fabrication.
• Practical experience with preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems is an added advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and under varying environmental conditions.

Responsibilities
• Carry out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults to minimise equipment downtime.
• Maintain and service conveyors, mixers, packaging machines, pumps, motors, gear systems and other mechanical equipment.
• Install, align, calibrate and commission machinery where required.
• Support equipment upgrades, modifications and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and spare parts documentation.
• Work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with health, safety, food hygiene, GMP, HACCP and relevant industry standards.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Support equipment inspections, audits and other maintenance-related activities.
• Provide basic guidance to machine operators on equipment care and troubleshooting.
