Responsibilities
🧪 Key Responsibilities:
▪️ Perform specimen analysis and diagnostic testing to detect, diagnose and monitor diseases and abnormalities.
▪️ Analyse, interpret and accurately record laboratory data and results on the Laboratory Information System.
▪️ Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
▪️ Conduct quality control procedures and maintain accurate records.
▪️ Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, SOPs, Good Laboratory Practice, ISO 15189, ISO 9001 and SANAS requirements.
▪️ Assist with internal and external laboratory audits.
▪️ Report laboratory incidents, equipment malfunctions and corrective actions.
▪️ Follow laboratory manuals, procedures and instructions.
▪️ Participate in relevant training and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities.
▪️ Assist with training colleagues and junior staff when authorised.
▪️ Maintain ethical and professional conduct in line with organisational policies and HPCSA requirements.
▪️ Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and productive working environment.
▪️ Provide excellent customer service through effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
