The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities for the SHIFT Project in Adamawa State. The role focuses on tracking data, assessing project progress, improving data quality, and helping teams use evidence to make program decisions.

Requirements

🎓 Qualifications & Experience Required
🎓 Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field (a Master’s degree is an advantage)
📅 Minimum of 5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within health, development, or sexual and reproductive health programmes
📊 Strong skills in data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting
🧠 Knowledge of M&E frameworks, tools, and project indicators
📣 Excellent communication, organisation, and report-writing skills
💪 Ability to train staff and work effectively with teams in the field
🌍 Willingness to travel frequently within Adamawa State
🗣️ Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage

Responsibilities

🧠 Key Duties and Responsibilities
📋 Implement monitoring and evaluation plans, frameworks, and tools for the project
🔍 Collect, validate, and analyse both quantitative and qualitative data from health facilities, community activities, and project events
📈 Ensure timely and accurate reporting of project outputs, outcomes, and impact
👣 Conduct routine field visits to monitor implementation and assess data quality
👥 Support capacity building for programme and field staff on M&E processes and data collection methods
📌 Identify gaps, trends, and lessons learned to support programme improvements
🤝 Collaborate with partners, government agencies, and health facilities to align M&E practices
🧪 Contribute to research, surveys, and evaluation activities as needed
