Cape Town-based early-stage ventures building climate and urban sustainability solutions are invited to apply for Shine 2027, which offers participants EUR50,000 (US$58,000) in grant funding, hands-on expertise, and a place in a global climate innovation network.

Delivered by the Swiss Re Foundation in partnership with Climate KIC, Shine 2027 backs founders working on solutions in energy, buildings, transport, waste, urban nature, and climate data and governance.

The programme is open to early-stage ventures operating in or serving Cape Town, Bangalore, Bratislava, London, Manila, Mexico City, New York and Zurich. Selected ventures receive seed grant funding, peer-like mentoring by Swiss Re talents of the region, alongside a place in a global network of climate innovators spanning all eight cities. The backing continues past the initial grant, with ventures that go on to demonstrate scale being potentially eligible for further support.

Applications are open until September 15.
