Fintech unicorn Navi has raised $100 million from Prosus. This is the company’s first institutional funding round and the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
Prosus said it was attracted to Navi’s large user base, multiple business lines, technology-first approach and focus on consumer experience. It also added that Navi has executed well over the past 12 months despite a tough macro environment.
While Navi did not disclose the valuation, an ET report pegs it at around $1.3 billion. It is worth noting that Navi had been seeking external funding at a $2 billion valuation for some time, according to media reports.
Founded by Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal, Navi operates across lending, insurance, mutual funds and UPI payments. In March 2026, Navi launched motor insurance as part of its insurance portfolio. In February 2025, Navi appointed Rajiv Naresh as CEO of Navi Technologies and Abhishek Dwivedi as CEO of Navi Finserv, while Sachin Bansal moved to the role of Executive Chairman of the Navi Group.
The investment comes a few months ahead of Navi’s potential initial public offering (IPO), which is expected to target a valuation of around $2 billion.
Navi’s lending business faced a brief disruption in FY25 after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) paused new loan sanctions by Navi Finserv in October 2024 over compliance issues. The RBI lifted the curbs in December 2024.
During FY26, Navi UPI retained its position as India’s fourth-largest UPI app, while Navi Finserv’s assets under management (AUM) crossed Rs 13,000 crore. According to NPCI data, Navi held a 4% market share by transaction volume in July 2026.
Navi reported a net loss of Rs 466 crore in FY26, while revenue from operations rose 16% to Rs 2,982 crore. The company said it achieved consolidated profitability in Q4 FY26, supported by improving economics and operating leverage.
Navi offers loans, insurance, mutual funds and UPI payments through its digital-first platform. The company said it has hundreds of millions of users across India and aims to build an integrated financial services platform for consumers.
