Startup Club ZA has announced the inaugural South African Startup Week (SASW), a three-day, ecosystem-wide event taking place at Makers Landing, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, from April 15-17.
Founded in 2023, Startup Club ZA (SCZA) is South Africa’s largest tech startup and investor network and exists to serve founders building the future through technology. It operates across national event initiatives, digital platforms and early-stage capital, working to reduce friction, increase access and create the conditions for world-class technology ventures to emerge locally and compete globally.
The first SASW is structured around three intentional days – Inspire, Build, and Connect – giving founders, operators, investors and builders a week of learning, doing and relationship-building in one city. Day one surfaces honest lessons from the founders of some of South Africa’s most exciting startups and scale-ups, including Yoco, PayFast, Yebo Fresh, FlexClub, and UCOOK, among others. Day two runs 12 expert-led workshops across product, fundraising, legal, sales, AI, and founder wellness, while day three closes the week with curated connection – an ecosystem run, city-wide coffee meet-ups, and a private investor lunch for active capital deployers.
“We’ve built an event that we feel has been long-overdue locally – allowing founders and investors to capitalise on the very real momentum in the South African startup space right now. Startup Week brings together the people building and backing the country’s most ambitious companies – in one city, over three days. We’re proud to be playing our part in what we believe can become a landmark, annual gathering for the local ecosystem,” said Mathew Marsden, founder of Startup Club ZA.
The event is open to founders, their teams, investors, and would-be innovators at any stage. Day tickets and full-week passes are available now. A Johannesburg edition is planned for later in 2026.
