Applications are now open for the Visa Africa FinTech Accelerator Program 2026 (Cohort 6). The initiative is designed to support fintech startups across Africa by providing mentorship, technical guidance, and access to networks that can help them refine their products and scale operations.

The program runs for about three months and follows a hybrid format that combines virtual and in-person engagement.

Startups selected for the accelerator will work closely with industry experts and Visa’s partner network while preparing for a Demo Day where they can present their solutions to investors and ecosystem players.

  • Startup Stage: The program is open to fintech startups at Seed to Series A stage.
  • Product Requirement: Applicants should have at least a minimum viable product (MVP) or a market-ready solution.
  • Market Traction: Startups with products that have been tested in the market or are gaining early traction are encouraged to apply.
  • Geographic Focus: Companies must already operate in Africa or have a clear plan to expand their services into African markets.
  • Relevant Solutions: Startups building solutions related to areas such as payment innovation, embedded finance, merchant and SME tools, payment infrastructure, financial services innovation, or inclusive finance are eligible to apply.
