The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at McGill University will be hosting multiple virtual information sessions ahead of the start of the application cycle. Attending one of these sessions is a mandatory step in the application process. Only eligible candidates who attend an information session will receive access to the application form link.
There will be two weekly regional information sessions, organized according to your country of residence. Please be sure to register for the session that corresponds to your region.
If you are unable to attend your designated regional session, there will also be two additional sessions open to applicants from all regions.
Key eligibility:
• Must be a citizen and resident of an African country
• Must be admissible to an eligible master’s program at McGill University
• Must have never registered for or completed a master’s degree
• Must be 35 years or younger at the time of application
• Must show strong leadership, service, and community involvement
• Must demonstrate financial need
• Must be willing to give back to their home community
Priority is given to:
• Women
• People affected by forced displacement
• People living with disability
• Applicants with First Class Honours or equivalent

Applicants should register for the session that matches their region. If unable to attend their regional session, there are also sessions open to all regions.
For thesis programs, applicants must first apply to the McGill Mastercard Foundation Scholarship. Do not contact supervisors directly unless instructed.
